Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 May 2026. These terms apply to all quotes, bookings and moves with Acorn Furniture Removals.

1. Quotes

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date sent. Quotes are based on the information you provide; significant changes (additional contents, additional stops, access changes) may require an updated quote.

2. Bookings & deposits

A booking is confirmed when you accept the quote and (where requested) pay the booking deposit. The deposit is credited toward the final invoice.

3. Payment

Final payment is due on the day of the move unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer, credit card and EFTPOS. Tax invoices include ABN and GST.

4. Cancellations & rescheduling

Cancellations more than 7 days before the move: full deposit refund. 3–7 days before: 50% refund. Less than 72 hours: deposit retained. Rescheduling within 72 hours where capacity allows is free.

5. Insurance & liability

Acorn carries public liability and goods-in-transit insurance as standard. Items of high or sentimental value (art, antiques, pianos, wine, jewellery, cash, documents) should be declared in advance for higher coverage. We reserve the right to refuse handling of items we deem unsafe to move.

6. AFRA accreditation

Acorn is a member of the Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA). Our trucks, equipment and crew comply with AFRA standards.

7. Storage

Items in our climate-controlled storage at Lake Munmorah remain insured during the storage period under our standard cover. Storage fees are billed monthly. Items can be retrieved with reasonable notice (typically 1 business day).

8. Right to refuse

We reserve the right to refuse service where the destination is unsafe, the contents include illegal or hazardous items, or access conditions threaten the safety of our crew.

9. Disputes

If something goes wrong on your move, we want to know. Please contact us on 0408 216 328 or acornremovals@hotmail.com. We aim to resolve all disputes directly and within 14 days.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
